Oral presentations

Oral presentations will be 15 minutes in length including discussion (i.e., 12 mins + 3).

The audio-visual equipment available in the lecture room will include one LCD projector for digital presentation and one overhead projector.

Digital file preparation

Digital or computer-based presentations must be compiled in Microsoft PowerPoint on an IBM-compatible PC. Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 versions are preferred. Save your presentation on a USB Portable Storage Device or on a CD/DVD. Label the presentation with the day (Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu), lecture room and the time of your oral presentation, your name (the presenter), and the abstract number EXACTLY as in this example:

MonH8_9_45name_S7a_724.ppt (or pptx).

Please check at home that a PC other than your own can access your presentation.

Oral presentation file submission

Your presentation file must be given to the emc2012 audio-visual technicians at least one day before your oral session by a USB storage device or CD/DVD in the speaker’s ready room (lecture room H10, 3rd floor at conference venue), either

a. On Sunday 2 September 2012 between 13.00 and 18.30 hrs – this is mandatory for those with a talk on Monday; or

b. On Monday through Wednesday 3- 5 Sept. 2012

Opening times of the speaker’s ready room:

Sunday 2 Sept. 2012: 13.00 - 18.30
Mon 3 Sept. 2012: 8.30 – 18.00
Tue– Wed 4-5 Sept.: 9.00 – 18.00
Thu 6 Sept. 2012: 9.00 – 16.00

At these times the audio-visual technician will check your presentation for compatibility with the equipment. This is not an opportunity anymore to modify the content of your presentation.

Manuscript submission

Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts for special emc2012 issues that are planned for the European Journal of Mineralogy, the Mineralogical Magazine and the Periodico di Mineralogia. Find more information here.
