Travel grants for students

There are no travel grants given by the emc2012 organizing committee. However, some societies do offer possibilities to apply for travel grants:

DMG

Student DMG members can apply for a travel aid to attend emc2012  if they present their work in oral or poster form and as first author. The travel aid amounts to € 50 and will be paid at the registration desk at emc2012.

An application for travel aid can be sent to the emc2012 organizing committee at:

EMU sponsorship of young scientists participating in emc2012

The EMU will waive part of the expenses of young scientists contributing to the following scientific sessions organized during emc2012:

  • 3c Modelling phase equilibria in metamorphism
  • 4a Mineralogical aspects of CO2 storage
  • 5c Advances in spectroscopy of Earth materials
  • 8d Critical raw materials for Europe
  • 13a Mineralogical sciences and cultural heritage

The recipients of the grants will be selected by the convenors of these sessions.

 

SGA (Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits) sponsorship of young scientists participating in emc2012

The SGA offers a limited support towards registration and/or travel expenses for SGA student members actively participating in the following scientific sessions organized during emc2012:

  • 8a Ore belts in Europe
  • 8b PGM and related accessory minerals in mafic-ultramafic rocks and unconventional deposits
  • 8c Ore-forming hydrothermal processes
  • 8d Critical raw materials for Europe

Requests for sponsorship indicating type of presentation accepted by LOC, amount of money requested and purpose of money use should be directed to session chairs by July 15, 2012. The recipients of the grants will be selected and approved by SGA and session chairs will be informed of a decision by August 15, 2012.
