We are pleased to announce the First European Mineralogical Conference which will be held at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Frankfurt, Germany, between 2-6 September 2012.

The idea of having a joint conference amongst the European mineralogical societies was born to foster exchange of new research results between the European countries. This conference can be in combination with the annual society meetings. If successful, this first European conference will open a new tradition of triennial conferences. The contributing societies presently are:

A number of the societies already decided to combine emc2012 with their annual meeting. The scientific committee will consist of one representative of each society.
